THE LEGACY OF EMINENT DOMAIN: FREEWAY PLACEMENTS AND ITS IMPACT ON BLACK AND BROWN COMMUNITIES

The West Adams Neighborhood Council invites you to attend an important community discussion hosted by Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell. This event will explore the history and ongoing impact of eminent domain and freeway placements on Black and Brown communities in the 2nd District.

What to Expect:

  • A panel of expert speakers addressing the disproportionate effects of eminent domain.
  • Insight into ways infrastructure development can be achieved without harming communities.
  • A viewing of select photos from Jeff Gates’ series, “In Our Path.”

This is a vital conversation for understanding and addressing systemic racial inequities in urban development. Your voice matters, and we encourage you to participate!
